CHEER / Hue University Teacher Training and Resource Center (TTRC)

In 2004 participants in CHEER’s Viet Nam Teacher Training Program created plans to develop an English Language Teachers’ Resource and Training Center (TRTC) at Hue University .

The center will be dedicated to current and future English teachers working in Central Viet Nam . It will include a library of English language textbooks, books, professional journals, and magazines; a computer lab; a laptop-loan program; technical training and support; a teacher-training program for high school and college English instructors; and an on-line faculty support network

The Viet Nam Educational Leadership Program (VELP)

In July 2004, the VTTP conducted its first Educational Leadership Retreat in Hue for former VTTP participants. Following the retreat, four Vietnamese English teachers co-facilitated the 2004 VTTP workshop with their American counterparts.

CHEER will continue to identify, recruit, train, and support Vietnamese English teacher/leaders at annual intensive Educational Leadership Training Retreats to staff the TTRC, train colleagues, and secure funds to maintain the center and its resources.
